Data Sovereignty Is Not Optional

Every byte of patient data in Solstice lives in AWS’s Canadian data centres in Montreal (ca-central-1). Not “primarily in Canada.” Not “replicated to Canada.” Exclusively in Canada. This is enforced at the infrastructure level — not by policy, but by architecture. There is no configuration, no checkbox, and no admin setting that can route patient data outside Canadian borders.

Built for Canadian Regulations

Solstice is built from the ground up for Canadian privacy law. PHIPA in Ontario. Provincial health privacy legislation across the country. We don’t adapt an American product for the Canadian market — we build for Canada first. OHIP billing, provincial lab integrations, Canadian drug databases, Canadian clinical workflows. This is our home market, not an afterthought.

Canadian Company, Canadian Jobs

Solstice is incorporated in Canada. Our team is in Canada. We’re funded by Canadian customers and Canadian non-dilutive programs — FEDNOR, NOHFC, SR&ED, IRAP. No foreign venture capital. No Silicon Valley ownership. The decisions about how Canadian patient data is handled are made by Canadians, in Canada, under Canadian law.

AI in Canada

Our AI capabilities run on AWS Bedrock in ca-central-1 — the same Canadian region as everything else. Patient data is never sent to the United States for AI processing. It is never used to train models. Clinicians get the benefits of modern AI — ambient transcription, decision support, communication tools — without their patients’ data ever crossing the border.
